"My favorite moments: Sooo many!! I loved traveling through the countryside and especially the sunflower fields. The area of Dufort was beautiful; I would loved to have been able to spend more time there. The grounds of the Chateau provided wonderful subjects for painting, and the warm, fun dinners with such kind and interesting people every night were special.

Accommodations: The Chateau was more than I expected. I loved the meals, the area, and my room. Yes, it was warm, but I didn't mind the heat and Marie Christine was extremely helpful for me--taking me to the market for clothes and supplies. I thought she made an effort to introduce us to the food and wines of the areas which made our stay more enjoyable.

I would definitely go on another trip with artandsoulyoga.

I would also stay at Garrevaques again.

I appreciated the concern and help I received from everyone on the trip. Having no luggage for three days could have been a real downer, but I had a great trip and have no regrets. The trips we took to the historical cities were invaluable and precious.

Join me for 10 days in the beautiful French countryside to paint where the impressionists painted, explore medieval villages, eat delicious local French cuisine, relax at the pool after a day of painting.... This summer we are adding the option of French cooking lessons from our master Chef at Garrevauqes!

I have been visiting this area of France for many years and found a beautiful Chateau/Hotel/spa to make our stay luxurious and comfortable. We will paint "en plein air" all around this magnificent area. Daily demonstrations, instruction, and critique will accompany this experience. Whether you are a beginner who always dreamed of painting or an advanced painter, here's your chance to make that dream come true.

Situated in the Valley of the Sor in the village of Garrevaques, the Chateau de Garrevaques sits in a beautiful rural location, amidst large broadleaf trees and fields of sunflowers.
It is 20 years now since Marie-Christine and Claude Combes, started receiving guests from around the world in their Chateau home. Located in the heart of the Cathar country with its 8 guest rooms and park of century old trees, the Chateau de Garrevaques is an ideal spot for finding peace and relaxation or as a base for visiting Toulouse, Carcassonne and Albi.

• 10 nights single accommodations with private bath

• Daily Painting Demonstrations & Instruction

• 10 Breakfasts , 9 Lunches & 9 Dinners

• Daily excursions to neighboring villages : Albi, Carcassonne, Toulouse, Soreze, Revel, and Castres.

Not included: Air transportation, ground transportration, 1 lunch and 1 dinner, art materials. (Limited shared car is available for $200)

Upon registration I will be supplying a list of materials to bring for a very light and compact painting experience. Spa treatments will be availble at the Chateau.

Payment:
A deposit of $600 will hold your place in the workshop. Deposit is refundable until 4 months prior to date of workshop start. After this date, deposit will be refunded to the participant ONLY if his or her place can be filled in the workshop. Every effort will be made to fill the vacancy. Refunds will be less a $100 administrative fee.

Balance of workshop fees is due March 15, 2011.
